The display, which took place on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Museum of Civilizations in Rome, has included the projects of the photographers of the fifth year of the Master Iuav in Photography, that proposed a specific project on a fragment of Rome and the traces of Italian colonialism in Africa in the city. Roma Subalterna expresses the desire to build a relationship between historical and distant echoes and the contemporary urban landscape. Photography, becomes a tool of vision and knowledge. It allows us and incorporate the subordinate as a condition and experience and not as a category, to trigger a process of deistitutionalization of the gaze.
